Model Announcement: Lampson 4600 "Ringer"

We are pleased to announce the newest addition to our upcoming models will be the Lampson company’s  4600 “Ringer”.  This 1:87 precision scale, brass model has an expected delivery date of Summer 2011, with production currently estimated at 150 pieces.

CONEXPO 2011 - After the Show

Just wanted to let you know everyone from Classic Construction Models had a great time at the show.  We enjoyed seeing our old friends and having the chance to meet so many new people.  A big thanks to everyone who visited our booth - we truly enjoyed seeing you there.

CONEXPO also gave us a chance to hear your input as to what you would like to see for upcoming models.  We will take all of those suggestions into consideration when deciding our future model schedule.

The prototype of the Caterpillar 992C, one of our surprise models for the show, was a real attention getter.  For those of you who were not able to make it to the show, we will post pictures of the prototype as soon as it completes the trip back to our office.

Model Announcement: Caterpillar 385CL, 385C FS, 390DL ME

385C Front Shovel

We are pleased to announce three configurations of the CAT 385 - the CAT 385CL, the 385C FS, and the 390DL ME - as the latest additions to our upcoming models.  These 1:48 precision scale, die-cast models have an expected delivery date of Fall 2011, with a production run of 1,500 models - 500 of each configuration.

992C Beadless Tire Configuration

Along with the Caterpillar 992C in standard configuration, Classic Construction Models will also offer the 992C with beadless tires.


The beadless tire consists of an air bladder (much like a regular tire) with a drive surface on the outside which connects to an exterior ring of tracks.  It was utilized in harsh applications, such as quarries, as it provided superior protection and grip in comparison to standard tires.


Both configurations of the 992C are still in the pre-production phase.  Keep an eye on this blog for further updates to the 992C and other models from CCM.
